Introduction to the Foch Foundation and Hospital, its areas of expertise and excellence, future projects, and the teams that help the hospital run every day.
The Foundation today
In medicine, research, especially clinical research, is essential for improving care and increasing the chances of finding a cure. It is the reason why treatments are constantly improving and becoming more effective. Foch stands out for its teams’ significant contribution to research.
A word from the President
To support the Foch Hospital, the Foundation is launching a new and unprecedented fundraising campaign, the 18-22 Campaign. At the heart of everything it does is the Foundation’s desire to push the boundaries and constantly progress in the hospital’s main areas of expertise, which include cancer surgery and transplants, which is often last-chance surgery, on the one hand, and cutting-edge surgeries and para-surgical methods on the other hand, which are alternatives to traditional methods. For these special surgeries, therapeutic success also lies in the preparation and recovery stages of patient care.
The Foch Hospital wants to ensure patients receive continuous, personalised and hands-on care, before, during and after their time in hospital. It is an innovative approach that is unique to France for its wide-scale implementation.
Just as the Foch Hospital could never have started out without its founders taking the initiative and the support from its donors, your support is now more essential than ever if it is to continue to develop.
Its ambition: to save more and more patients and improve their quality of life after receiving treatment. The projects supported by this campaign will enable the hospital’s teams to achieve new surgical prowess while embracing the future of hospitalisation.
We have to pursue good on Earth even after we have left it, through the institutions we have left behind.
Vision, values and commitments
Conviction and Humanism
Sometimes it only takes a handful of determined people for humanity to become a little greater. The Foch Hospital was built on hopes and dreams, talent and perseverance. The men and women who built this crazy project from the ground by being persistent and believing in their cause were seen as ahead of their time or enlightened and as stubborn or visionaries. Today, they are continuing to build on their project, through those currently working for the Foundation, as their perseverance and expertise have been passed down through the generations. In laying the first stone on 2 March 1931, one of Marshal Foch’s thoughts was laid with it: “We have to pursue good on Earth even after we have left it, through the institutions we have left behind”.
Independence
The Foundation is independent of any political power. Its decisions are made based on its mission and the Foch Hospital’s needs.
Efficiency
The Foundation effectively helps the Foch Hospital by supporting patient-centred projects so they are more efficient and higher performing.
Aspirations
By funding the hospital’s ambitious projects, the Foundation wants to play an active role in saving more and more patients and improving their quality of life after receiving treatment. The projects carried out will enable the hospital teams to achieve new surgical prowess while embracing the future of hospitalisation.
